Independent and transparent

ViewLofoten is not the official tourism board. We publish travel information and direct bookings to external providers. Hotels.com, GetYourGuide and DiscoverCars are our booking partners.

We do not invent live prices, ratings or availability. Products and booking conditions are confirmed with the provider. Area photographs are distinguished from product photos.

Our main pages, hotel profiles, destination guides, travel articles and event pages are available in English, German and French. The Italian edition also includes all 13 destination guides and selected travel articles. Links to articles not yet translated are labelled as Norwegian.

Sources and changing information

We prioritise the organisation responsible for each fact: MET Norway for weather, transport operators and Entur for journeys, Varsom for natural hazards and the Norwegian Public Roads Administration for traffic. Accommodation and restaurant details are linked to an identified property or source, not inferred from a similar name.

A source-check date refers to the information checked then. Translating a page does not refresh its prices, opening hours or transport timetable. Confirm time-sensitive details with the linked provider for your travel date. Our editorial guides are not live safety assessments.

Facts, recommendations and partnerships

Our advice on who a place suits is based on its location, documented facilities and practical features. These are editorial assessments, not claims that we have personally stayed or eaten there. Affiliate relationships do not justify better ratings or undisclosed placement.

Bookings and payments take place with the external provider. Confirm the total price, availability and cancellation terms there. We withhold hotel guest scores and star classifications when we cannot establish an appropriate, current source.

Photography, illustrations and AI

Property and activity photographs must match the identified property or product. A photograph of the surrounding area is not proof of a particular restaurant, room or excursion; we label that distinction. Editorial illustrations are not presented as photographs documenting a real business or event.

We may use automation and language models to organise information and improve drafts. The publisher remains responsible for what is published. We do not invent visits, quotations, personal experiences or local expertise.

Help us correct an error

Send the page address, the detail that is wrong and, if possible, a link to the original source to our contact email below. Please tell us whether the issue concerns a translation, a map location, accessibility or another practical fact. Avoid including booking references or sensitive personal information.

We assess corrections against the relevant source. Missing information is not confirmation that a facility is unavailable. If a booking detail is essential to your trip, ask the provider directly before booking.
