Where to stay in Henningsvær

The harbor and city centre

You can explore Henningsvær on foot. Around the harbour, you stay closest to restaurants, galleries and cafés, with the liveliest atmosphere in high season.

Farther towards the Vestfjorden

The fishermen’s cabins at the edge of the village offer more exposure to the sea and weather, along with greater tranquillity. The centre is still only a few minutes’ walk away.

Without a car?

Henningsvær is just under half an hour by car from Svolvær, and the way out is an experience in itself. There is a bus connection, but the departures are few - check the timetables in live travel info before planning your day.

Short recommendationChoose Bryggehotellet for hotel comfort, fishermen’s cabins for atmosphere, and Tobiasbrygga for a group stay with self-catering.

Short and specific

Frequently asked questions

Practical answers for choosing a base and accommodation.

Should I stay in Henningsvær or Svolvær?

Choose Henningsvær for a small fishing village, galleries and a short distance between the wharves. Choose Svolvær for more transport connections, a larger selection of hotels and easier planning without a car.

Do I need a car in Henningsvær?

Not within the fishing village itself. For beaches, hikes and other parts of Lofoten, a car or a bus trip planned around the timetable is useful. Check the schedules before booking.

Are all the photos of the specific accommodation?

Yes. Each hotel card uses images associated with the listing for the location named on the card. Area illustrations are marked separately where used.

Where can I find guest reviews?

Read up-to-date guest reviews at Hotels.com before you book. The guide does not show its own scores.
