Data controller

STATIKA AS publishes ViewLofoten at viewlofoten.com and is the data controller. Organisation number: 929 048 768. Business and postal address: Øvre Laskenvei 20, 3221 Sandefjord, Norway. Privacy enquiries: kontakt@statika-as.com.

No account or advertising profile

You do not need an account. ViewLofoten does not create a personal travel or advertising profile. Trip-planner choices are not stored on our server.

Optional analytics

With your consent, we use Vercel Web Analytics for page views, booking-partner clicks, internal links, Google Maps links and use of the trip planner. The purpose is to improve content and navigation; the legal basis is consent under GDPR Article 6(1)(a). We do not record completed bookings. Search terms, travel dates, precise coordinates, contact details and partner codes are not sent as event data. Click events contain only a public page or product identifier and the link’s placement.

Analytics data and your choice

Measurement includes page addresses without query parameters and the technical and approximate geographic information described by Vercel. Events with external referrers containing a path or query are omitted. Vercel states that Web Analytics uses no third-party cookies and discards its request-based visitor identifier after 24 hours. Aggregated reports are available for up to twelve months on our current Pro plan. Your consent or refusal and its timestamp are stored locally in the browser for up to 180 days. Use “Analytics preferences” in the footer to change your choice. Withdrawal stops future measurement but does not remove existing aggregates. We respect Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. To reduce losses from technical blocking, analytics scripts and measurements may be delivered through our own domain to Vercel. This happens only with consent; refusal, Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control are still respected. GetYourGuide has a separate consent choice.

Operation and security

Vercel hosts the website and may process IP address, requested page, time, device, browser and technical log data. Our legal basis is the legitimate interest in a secure and functioning service under GDPR Article 6(1)(f). We have no separate log database; searchable runtime logs are available for up to one day under the current Pro plan. Some search and data endpoints temporarily use IP addresses in server memory to limit abuse. These keys are not written to our own database and expire with the counting window, no later than one hour.

Maps and external services

Maps may load resources from OpenStreetMap, Kartverket or Open Charge Map. These providers receive ordinary network information such as IP address and time. Location access requires permission from your browser. Coordinates are used locally to adjust the map and are not stored in a ViewLofoten database. Map providers still receive network data when map tiles load. News is retrieved through our server; article images may load from Amedia’s image service.

GetYourGuide and booking partners

GetYourGuide product photos and embedded content load only after your separate choice; GetYourGuide may then use cookies and process technical data under its own policies. This choice lasts for the open browser tab. Without consent, editorial content and ordinary links remain available. Opening Hotels.com, GetYourGuide, DiscoverCars or another external link sends visit information to that provider. ViewLofoten normally receives aggregated partner reporting, not payment details or full booking records.

Email

When you contact us, we process your email address, name if supplied, message and technical email data to respond and handle corrections. The basis is legitimate interest. Ordinary enquiries are deleted no later than twelve months after closure unless further retention is necessary to document a correction, deal with a legal claim or meet a legal obligation. Please do not send sensitive personal information.

Sharing and transfers

Vercel is our technical provider. External map and booking services are independently responsible for the data they receive. Vercel describes standard contractual clauses for relevant international transfers in its data processing agreement. ViewLofoten does not sell personal data.

Your rights

Depending on the processing, you may request access, correction, deletion or restriction, or object to processing based on legitimate interest. You may complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority, Datatilsynet. Contact kontakt@statika-as.com; we may need information to verify your identity.
